At Geo, our services are structured to support products from idea through to production. We begin with Concept Development; defining the right solution by aligning user needs, business goals, and technical feasibility. Through Design & Engineering, we develop that solution properly; resolving complexity and refining detail so the product is ready for manufacture. Finally, Manufacturing Support ensures the product is built with confidence; carrying design intent through production and managing risk across the supply chain.

Concept Development

Concept Development is where we establish the foundations for successful products. This stage focuses on understanding the problem, exploring viable directions, and defining a clear design and engineering strategy before significant development investment is made.

At Geo, we use Concept Development to reduce risk early. By combining research, structured exploration, and technical awareness, we turn early ideas into clear, actionable concepts that can be confidently progressed into design and engineering. The outcome is a defined product direction that aligns user needs, business objectives, and manufacturing constraints from the outset.

  • We begin by building a clear understanding of the product context. This includes user needs, market conditions, technical constraints, and commercial drivers. Research and Discovery ensures decisions are informed by evidence rather than assumption, helping define the real opportunities and challenges before concepts are developed.

  • We analyse existing products and market solutions to understand current benchmarks, limitations, and areas of opportunity. Competitor Analysis helps identify meaningful differentiation and informs strategic design decisions, ensuring the product is positioned with clear intent rather than reacting to what already exists.

  • Product Architecture defines how a product works at a system level. We establish the structure, layout, and relationships between components to balance functionality, usability, performance, and manufacturability. This stage provides a shared framework for design and engineering, reducing ambiguity as the project moves forward.

  • Visual Styling explores how the product should look, feel, and be perceived. We develop aesthetic directions that support brand identity while remaining grounded in usability and production constraints. Using sketching, digital modelling, and visualisation, we define design languages that can be carried through into detailed development.

  • Where products include electronics, we define electrical integration early to avoid downstream compromise. This includes component strategy, layout considerations, and system requirements, working closely with electronic specialists to ensure reliable performance and alignment with overall product architecture.

  • We assess viable manufacturing methods, materials, and supply routes at an early stage. Considering manufacture options during concept development ensures proposed solutions are realistic, scalable, and aligned with cost and production requirements, enabling a smoother transition into detailed design and engineering.

Design & Engineering

Design & Engineering is where concepts are developed into fully defined, production-ready products. This stage focuses on resolving technical challenges, refining form and function, and ensuring every design decision is supported by sound engineering and real-world feasibility.

At Geo, we combine Industrial Design and Engineering into a single, integrated process. Through iterative development, detailed modelling, prototyping, and validation, we ensure products are not only well designed, but engineered to perform, scale, and be manufactured with confidence.

  • We develop accurate, production-aware 3D CAD models that define form, function, and assembly intent. Our team is experienced across multiple industry-leading CAD systems, allowing us either to align seamlessly with a client’s existing CAD environment or to select the most appropriate platform for the technical demands of the project. This flexibility ensures models are optimised for development, validation, collaboration, and manufacture.

  • We use in-house prototyping to quickly translate digital designs into physical form. This allows rapid evaluation of ergonomics, functionality, and assembly, enabling issues to be identified and resolved early. Each prototype informs the next iteration, supporting fast, controlled development.

  • We refine visible and user-facing surfaces using advanced A-surface modelling techniques. This ensures surfaces meet aesthetic, ergonomic, and quality requirements while remaining fully compatible with downstream engineering and manufacturing processes.

  • Detail Design defines how a product is made, assembled, and performs in use. We resolve tolerances, fastenings, interfaces, and material choices to produce fully engineered components and assemblies that are reliable, manufacturable, and aligned with the original design intent.

  • We integrate electronic systems into products in a controlled and coordinated way. Working across mechanical and electrical disciplines, we define layouts, interfaces, and system requirements that support performance, reliability, and efficient manufacture.

  • Testing is embedded throughout our development process. We use virtual and physical testing to assess functionality, durability, and performance, identifying risks early and validating designs before they move into manufacture.

Manufacturing Support

Manufacturing Support ensures that products move from design into production smoothly, efficiently, and without compromise. This stage focuses on translating design and engineering intent into clear manufacturing outputs, supporting suppliers, and managing risk throughout the production process.

At Geo, Manufacturing Support is a flexible, tailored service. We scale our involvement to suit each project; from preparing complete manufacturing data packs, to supporting supplier selection, onboarding, and on-site production. The objective is simple: to ensure products are manufactured correctly, consistently, and with confidence.

  • We review designs with a manufacturing-first mindset, assessing materials, tolerances, processes, and assembly strategies. Our DFM approach identifies potential production issues early, reducing risk, controlling cost, and ensuring products can be manufactured reliably at scale.

  • We prepare structured, technically robust manufacturing tenders to support supplier selection. By clearly defining specifications, quality expectations, and commercial requirements, we help clients engage the right manufacturing partners and make informed decisions with confidence.

  • We produce complete, production-ready documentation, including 3D CAD, 2D drawings, Bills of Materials, and supporting technical information. Clear, accurate documentation ensures manufacturers fully understand design intent, reducing ambiguity, errors, and rework during production.

  • We define how products are assembled in practice. By developing clear assembly procedures, we support efficient, repeatable build processes, helping manufacturers maintain quality, reduce variation, and avoid costly mistakes.

  • We support production planning by coordinating timelines, resources, and key milestones. This helps manage capacity, align expectations across the supply chain, and keep manufacturing programmes on track from initial build through to delivery.

  • Where required, we provide on-site manufacturing support to monitor production, quality, and process adherence. Site visits allow issues to be identified and resolved quickly, ensuring production aligns with design intent and agreed standards.
