Frequently Asked Questions
What is Industrial Design Engineering?
Industrial Design Engineering (IDE) is the seamless integration of creative design thinking and rigorous engineering execution. It is how we take design intent - the look, feel, function, and user experience of a product - and translates it into a manufacturable, reliable and scalable reality.
We at Geo believe IDE is human-centred, collaborative, and production-aware. We consider everyone who interacts with the product; the end user, the manufacturer, the assembler, the supplier, and the business behind it.
Who do you work with?
We partner with businesses of all sizes, from global OEMs to innovative start-ups, who value design thinking, collaboration, and quality engineering. Our clients span industries including healthcare, consumer products, mobility, and industrial equipment.
What type of projects does Geo take on?
We work on a wide range of projects, from early concept development and prototyping to full-scale product engineering and manufacturing support. Whether you need design innovation or detailed technical execution, we tailor our involvement to your needs.
Even if your project is a first of it’s kind, get in touch to see if we can help you bring the product to life.
What software do you use?

What is the typical project timeline?
Each project is unique. A small project may last 3-6 months from conceptual ideation to manufacture, while larger projects can last 12-18 months from start to finish.
For every project, we provide clear timelines and stages, from initial research through design, prototyping, and manufacture, to ensure every phase is transparent and aligned with your deadlines.
Can Geo help with manufacturing?
Yes. We don’t stop at design: our Manufacturing Support service ensures your product is ready for production. This includes Design for Manufacture (DFM), supplier liaison, technical documentation, and on-site production support.
We can either work with your existing manufacturing supply chain, introduce you to our list of trusted suppliers, or advise on the best partners for your product and business goals.
Whether you want to be involved or trust the day-to-day management to Geo, we can help ensure you have products supplied on-time, on budget, and to spec.
Do you offer prototyping services?
Yes. We have in-house prototyping capabilities, including 3D printing (FDM and SLA), laser cutting and engraving, and vacuum casting. This capability ensures we can rapidly validate designs and solve challenges quickly and efficiently during development.
For larger, more complex prototyping requirements, we have a network of trusted prototyping suppliers who can supplement our in-house capabilities.

During an initial discussion, we’ll help define the right scope of work and ensure expectations are aligned from the outset.
